I love Paris in the spring time…
In my eyes, Paris is great any time of year but there's just something about the idea of a fresh-air stroll along the Seine that keeps me going through this never-ending New England winter. If you're craving warmer weather and a way to transport yourself to France this spring (without the cost of airfare), check out my list of top five things to do au Centre.

  1.  Cozy up in the library.

The cold, blustery days of winter are (mostly) behind us, but not quite yet. Get cozy in our library with a book en français and settle into a choice chair by a sun-filled window. For francophones, have you checked out Insoupçonnable  by Tanguy Viel or maybe T'choupi ne veut pas se coucher for your kids? Beginners, why not check out a bande dessinée? When you're ready for a break, explore the full library collection complete with movies, CDs, and games. Borrowing privileges are reserved for our members so visit https://frenchlibrary.org/memberships/ and become a member today.

  1. Take an online lesson.
The spring session has just begun but never fear—you can still learn French with us! Why not sign up for an online class? Designed to work around your schedule and level, our online classes could be just what you need to work on your French skills this spring. https://frenchlibrary.org/private-and-online-lessons/

  1. Imbibe at a festive wine tasting.

Now is the time to bring out a crisp beverage to pair with your spring salads and fruits, or to enjoy outside on the patio before lunch or dinner. Learn more about which wines you like, or what’s on trend, at one of our popular wine tastings. This spring we have not one, but two delicious tasting events for you!  Maybe you're into #roséallday and want to see what choices Patrick Walsh of Provence Wine Imports has selected for us. Or perhaps you’ve always been curious about the difference between apéritifs and digestifs—we have a tasting for that, too. Either way, you can't lose!  After a glass or two you won't be able to distinguish if you are in Boston or the lavender fields of Provence. Don't forget members get a discounted price to these events!

  1. Party like it’s 1789!

Support the Center this spring by attending our annual gala, Le Bal Révolution at the Liberty Hotel. This year's theme is la Révolution française and all funds raised by this event go towards the Center's Mosaïque Cultural Fund, which supports year-round cultural programming. This event is known for its French theme, as much as its fashionable attendees and interesting accessories. This year, we have reduced-priced tickets for the young professional and aspiring philanthropist. The price goes up on May 1, so get your ticket tout de suite!

  1. Test your knowledge at Trivia Night.

Do you know everything there is about French and the francophone world (of course you do; you belong to our library!)? History and pop-culture buffs alike are welcome to come test their knowledge at the Center on April 24th at 6:30 pm.  This event is reserved for our members so purchase or renew your membership today!
