It’s that time of year again: August is here, and the library is closed through Labor Day. What to do when you can’t browse the stacks? Not to worry, you can still find your perfect beach read (or magazine, DVD, or game) using our bibliographies and online catalog!

To reserve books online, log in to the catalog using your username and password, then search for the item you want. (Don’t know your login? The default username is your first initial and last name, and your password is automatically set to the last four digits of your membership card number. Still stuck? Email teamlibrary@frenchlibrary.org for help.)

When you’ve found what you want, click place hold. The librarians will check it out and leave it waiting for you at the reception desk, and you’ll receive an email when it’s ready - as early as the day you reserved it!

But how do you pick a book or a movie when you can’t browse the collection in person? Try one of our bibliographies - lists of materials sharing a theme or genre. You can find bibliographies for adults on our website and bibliographies for kids and families on our children’s page.
