We aim to keep your child engaged in their learning through small class sizes, one-on-one interaction with teachers and students, and high-quality teaching. All in full immersion! Our policies have changed. Make sure to read them before you register for a class.
It’s winter in New England! The following will be applied in case of a snowstorm or extreme weather:
For in-person learning, adults and teens classes will switch to an online format. Kids’ classes will be canceled and rescheduled. Please look for an email from your teacher or the Education Department for guidance and zoom links.
For online learning, classes will continue to be in session during a projected storm. Unless we announce otherwise, please assume classes are in session. In the event of power and/or internet outages, here are some general tips:
– If you experience a power outage or a Zoom interruption at your home, please contact the Education Dept. via email: adultprograms@frenchlibrary.org or youthprograms@frenchlibrary.org. You might also want to be in touch with the teacher directly, to make arrangements to review any missed material.
– If a teacher loses connection during a class, please stay in your virtual classroom for a few minutes while the teacher logs back in. If your teacher is unable to make it back quickly, please check your e-mail for further instructions from your teacher or a member of the education team.

Bonjour les amis! This class is designed for 4-year-old children to teach them the basics of the French language through engaging games, lively songs, imaginative poems and hands-on activities. Students will meet Léon and Camille and their delightful animal friends, making learning French a fun and interactive adventure.
Les Ouistitis
Parents and caregivers accompany their tots for gentle first steps into the world of French! Through nursery rhymes, stories, games, crafts and flash cards, toddlers develop their oral comprehension and speaking skills.

In this class, our youngest French learners play games, dance, and learn basic vocabulary with their parents or caregivers.

Give your teen a full immersion experience of summer fun and learning! No matter their proficiency level, teens will love the combination of language learning activities, hands-on workshops and field trips that make our Summer in French program uniquely effective.Our program offers 3 options to best serve the needs of our teens: - Option A: a one-week half-day program with a specific theme. Offered once in July, once at the end of July/early August and once in August. - Option B: one week, morning only, at the end of August. This is the perfect program for teens who want to get a head-start or a refresher before going back to school. - Option C: Afternoon workshops. Our culturally enriching component offers an exciting blend of excursions and in-house workshops. These activities will provide students with enjoyable opportunities to practice their French in a relaxed setting. Through fun outings and interactive workshops, students will explore various facets of the Francophone world that complement the morning curriculum.
