About Duo Déjà Vu

Rebecca Hartka and Barbara Lysakowski have performed together since 2011 in a variety of venues including the Seully Hall at the Boston Conservatory and Bass Hall at The Monadnock Center. The Boston Musical Intelligencer praised them for their “impressive, lyrical talents” saying that their performance “provided a kind of magic.” In addition to Duo Déjà Vu, Hartka and Lysakowski are members of Rêve D’Amour, a Boston-based chamber quartet.

Cellist Rebecca Hartka has performed for over a decade in venues throughout the United States as well as making international appearances in Italy, Vietnam, and Thailand.









lysakowski
Barbara Lysakowski is an active solo and chamber music pianist in her native country and in the Boston area. Her musical interests stretch from Baroque to 20th century music.

fabrizio
Fabrizio Mazzetta earned his undergraduate diploma and bachelor’s degree from the National Regional Conservatory of Music of Aubervilliers in Paris, France and the Bourg-la-Reine Sceaux National Music School in Paris, France. He went on to earn a Master of Music in Cello Performance at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA, where he was a student of Soloist Iseut Chuat and former Boston Symphony Orchestra member Ronald Feldman. Fabrizio has appeared as a member of many orchestras and music ensembles, including the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, Hingham Symphony Orchestra, and Symphony New Hampshire as well as the newly co-founded Strings Attached Duet with pianist Masako Jasmine Yotsugi, among others.

Masako Jasmine Yotsugi earned her diploma in Jazz Piano Performance at Berklee College of Music where she studied with renowned jazz pianist, Ray Santisi. Masako was a resident pianist at the Boston Harbor Hotel for years and entertained guests with her broad knowledge of the American Songbook as well as more contemporary, popular music. Her first CD Drifting was released in June 2016 - available on iTunes, CDbaby and Amazon.

This diverse group of instrumentalists and artists is committed to engaging audiences, inspiring local pride, and strengthening the collaborative artistic connections between our various Boston neighborhoods.

rachel
Rachel Goodwin is the founder and Artistic Director of Convergence Ensemble. She has performed solo recitals and as a chamber musician throughout the eastern United States and California. A highlight of her work with Convergence Ensemble has been “American Voice in Poetry and Song,” a program which explores American voice of the past and present through spoken word and song. Rachel’s work as Artistic Director and performer has been recognized by three awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the City of Boston, which named her an Artist/Humanist Fellow in 2002. She also addressed the 25th Annual Conference of Chamber Music America on “Creating Your Own Concert Series.”

Sarah Cooper is praised for her "meltingly beautiful" (Opera News) singing. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in French from Princeton University and her Master of Music Degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College. Previous performances include Pamina in Die Zauberflöte (CoOPERAtive), Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro (Savannah Voice Festival), Micaëla in Carmen (Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance), and Violetta in La Traviata (CoOPERAtive).







james
James Fiste is Associate Professor of Cello at Central Michigan University. An active recitalist and chamber musician, Dr. Fiste's performance engagements have taken him to Hungary, France, Spain, and Germany. A former member of the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and an avid collaborator, he currently performs in the Saarburg Music Festival in Germany and was Co-Artistic Director for the Plymouth Chamber Music Festival in Plymouth, MA from 2001-2007 where he performed with artists of international stature. Dr. Fiste earned his B.M. at the University of Illinois (C-U), his M.M. from the University of Notre Dame, and his D.M.A. from the University of Illinois (C-U) where he studied with Karen Buranskas and Laurien Laufman. He has also participated in master classes with Janos Starker and Fritz Magg.
