About Valentine Cadic

Filmmaker and actress Valentine Cadic is a rising voice in contemporary independent French cinema, and one of Unifrance’s ‘10 to Watch’ for 2026. While studying cinema at Paris 8 University, Cadic appeared in Léa Mysius’ film Ava and Guillaume Senez’s Our Struggles (Nos batailles), both of which premiered at Cannes’ Critics’ Week (La Semaine de la Critique). She is a founding member of Les Filmeuses, a group focusing on the production and distribution of short films.

Before her feature film debut, Cadic released several acclaimed short films including Omaha Beach and The Summer Holidays (Les grandes vacances) - the latter of which is a spiritual predecessor to That Summer in Paris. Directing her feature film debut at only 28-years-old, Cadic went on to win several awards for That Summer in Paris including Best International Film at BAFICI and the prestigious Louis Delluc Prize for Best First Film.
