About Robert Humpreville

Robert Humphreville is a freelance pianist and organist. For the past forty-five years, he has accompanied silent movies on the piano and organ all over New England.

The Boston Globe has praised him for his inventive improvisations, and he received a special commendation award from the Boston Society of Film Critics for artistry in live accompaniment of silent film screenings. Also a composer of independent film scores, Robert holds a degree in music from Harvard University.



About Sophia Kornitsky

  Sophia is managing rentals at the French Library. She is an avid cinephile, receiving a double major in French and cinema at Wellesley College in 2019. During her studies, Sophia served as President of the Wellesley Film Society and worked in the Cinema & Media Studies Department. While studying abroad in Aix-en-Provence, Sophia interned at the Musée Jean Cocteau and attended the prestigious 3 Days at Cannes Program.

She spent several years in Paris teaching English and studying cinema at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle and at the École normale supérieure under film scholars such as Antoine De Baecque and Nicole Brenez. During this time, she worked at the Comité du Film Ethnographique’s Jean Rouch International Festival at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac in Paris. In her free time in Boston, Sophia volunteers at the Brattle Theatre and attends seminar screenings at the Coolidge Corner Theatre.
