About this Exhibition
The watercolor paintings in From Penguins to Polar Bears - The Impacts of Climate Change aim to inform and raise awareness about the impact of climate change on polar species in the French sub-Antarctic territories.
Prolific French artist Aurélie Lebrun du Puytison and Stéphanie Jenouvrier, Assistant scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts have brought art and science together to reach a broader audience. Based on Stéphanie’s photographs, Aurélie created this thematic pictorial series on the endangered species in polar environments.
Aurélie Lebrun du Puytison
Aurélie Lebrun du Puytison is a prolific French artist whose work is defined in the artistic medium of fine watercolors and sculpture. A graduate of Ecole supérieure des arts Appliqués Dupérré in Paris in 2004, she has exhibited her watercolor paintings in European and international exhibitions. Aurélie Lebrun du Puytison sees her watercolor paintings as reflective of nature’s voice and hopes to alert us to the changes we are causing to the beauty of nature.About Stéphanie Jenouvrier
Stéphanie Jenouvrier is a French scientist and seabird ecologist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. She has been researching the population trends of Antarctic seabirds such as the Emperor penguin for over a decade. She believes in the power of art to communicate science.

Call for Artists
Our art exhibition program showcases local and international artists whose work has a connection with French and Francophone culture.
Whether you draw your inspiration from an artistic movement, a specific artist, a subject or a technique, you can submit your work for an opportunity to present your art to the public in our elegant brownstone's gallery in the heart of Back Bay, for month-long exhibitions from September through June.
Artists and projects are selected by a committee of art professionals, artists and art connoisseurs who meet twice a year. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
