We receive a lot of questions about these events and hope that this post can answer some of the popular ones. We’re looking forward to seeing you at one soon!
Are you doing both in-person and online events?
Yes! We started doing online events when the pandemic hit in March 2020 and have continued ever since. In the summer of 2020 we started offering outdoor in-person events and continue to offer a few a month, including those indoors when appropriate. In-person events include wine tastings, dinners, travel clubs, walks, and guided tours around Boston to name a few. We plan to offer both types of events in 2022 and to continue when the Center re-opens in the spring of 2022. Infrequently, if the COVID situation worsens and government regulations change, we might switch an in-person event to an online one for everyone's safety.
Read our event webpages carefully to see if an event is online or in person. To see if an event is online or in person on our website, see the subtitle on the Event page.
Do you offer events in French or English?
Nous proposons les deux ! We know our audience has various levels of comfort in the French language so we offer events in both languages, sometimes both at the same time!
Read our event webpages carefully to see if an event is in French or English. To see which language an event is in on our website, see the subtitle on the Event page.
This is my first event and I’m nervous! Can I come alone?
Absolutely! Our events are designed to help you learn and appreciate various aspects of francophone culture but they are also a great way to meet people!
To get connected with our dedicated group of francophiles, become a member and join one of our events reserved just for members. While we do have events that allow you to meet with others one-on-one, we are working on a special initiative for 2022 to more easily help you meet and connect with others.
What precautions are you taking for COVID during your events?
We follow current guidelines issued by City and State authorities. We thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any doubts, you can email our Culture (culture@frenchlibrary.org) or Membership (membership@frenchlibrary.org) team to know more.
When will I get the Zoom link for an online event?
The organizer of the event will send the Zoom link the night before or morning of an event. We strongly encourage you to double-check the e-mail you have on file with us at the time of registration so that you receive the link with no issue. Links are forwarded throughout the day to those who sign up for an event after the initial link email goes out.
Do you have any other questions? Give our reception team a call at 617-912-0400 or email us at info@frenchlibrary.org!
