About Danielle Davidson
Danielle Davidson is a performing artist, choreographer, and educator currently based in New England. She obtained her D.E.C. in dance performance (classical-contemporary) from L’Ecole Supérieure de Danse du Québec / Cégep du Vieux Montréal and later trained in theater at George Brown College in Toronto. Davidson has performed, taught, and been commissioned to create new works throughout Europe and North America. She is the recipient of Le 1er Prix du Jury from Le Festival International de Danse Encore.
Davidson is an Assistant Professor at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and in her fifth season with Prometheus Dance. She also performs regularly with project-based companies that include Lorraine Chapman The Company and Zoe Dance Company. She also works in collaboration with artists based in New England such as Riley Watts, Gisela Creus, Orlando Hernandez and Ilya Vidrin.
In addition, Davidson is the co-founding artistic director/performer of Doppelgänger Dance Collective (DDC), a dancer directed repertory collective which produces and commissions new works each season by renowned artists, engages live musicians, and performs internationally. DDC is regularly engaged to design movement for theater, and opera productions.
As a choreographer, Davidson has presented work in Europe and North America, and is regularly commissioned to create dances for college and university dance programs. Her works have been produced or presented by the fFIDA in Toronto, The Place in London, UK, Le Festival International de la Danse at La Place des Arts in Montreal, The Gibney Dance Center in NYC, Endicott College in MA, Keene State College in NH, Roger Williams University, Providence College, Brown University and WaterFire Providence/Festival Ballet in RI, among others.
