Aux côtés de Versailles et de Fontainebleau, le Château de Compiègne est l'une des trois plus importantes résidences royales et impériales françaises.
Aujourd’hui, les visiteurs peuvent y découvrir les Appartements royaux et impériaux, le Musée du Second Empire, le Musée de l’Impératrice (réouverture en 2021) et le Musée national de la Voiture.
