Launch of the 2025 Ciné Club Series: 'Les Promesses' by Thomas Kruithof

Please join us for the return of our Ciné Club series in 2025. Our very own president, Barbara Bouquegneau, a passionate cinephile with deep knowledge of cinema, will present the first screening of the season.

Take a deep dive into the world of local power and political ambition with Les Promesses, a gripping drama starring legendary actress Isabelle Huppert and celebrated co-lead Reda Kateb. Directed by Thomas Kruithof, the film sheds light on the complexities of political action through the story of Clémence Collombet (Huppert), a suburban mayor at the end of her career. As she strives to rescue a deteriorating housing project with the help of her chief of staff (Kateb), she faces an unexpected dilemma when offered a ministerial position.
