About Thomas Kruithof

Thomas Kruithof  is a French filmmaker known for his exploration of the human condition within the framework of political and social issues. His work focuses on the moral dilemmas faced by those in power, and his storytelling is marked by a subtle blend of realism and psychological depth. Les Promesses is his second feature film, following his acclaimed debut La Mécanique de l’Ombre (The Eavesdropper), which also tackled themes of personal and political intrigue.

Barbara Bouquegneau holds a Master of Science in Film Production from Boston University. Over the years, she has been curating the French Library’s cinema program, bringing a thoughtful selection of French films to local audiences and fostering discussions around contemporary and classic French cinema.
