About The Countess of Ségur

The Countess of Ségur (1799–1874) is one of France’s most beloved children’s authors. Born in Russia and writing in French later in life, she published over 20 novels as part of Hachette’s iconic Bibliothèque rose series. Her stories, filled with mischief, moral lessons, and charm, have sold millions of copies and remain staples of French childhood.
