About Priya

Priyamvada is a teacher, actor, playwright and author from India. She taught French and theater at the Alliance Française de Madras for over 10 years. After training in theater and language at the Avignon Theater Festival, she wrote and directed plays in French. It was while rehearsing for Molière’s Tartuffe in her native Tamil when she was teaching French and writing her first novel in English that something opened up within her. She never saw the world the same way again. She believes, in the words of Charlemagne, that to have a second language is to possess a second soul, or a third one in her case. She now lives in Boston and conducts theater workshops at educational institutions and companies.
