Join us online for another one of our popular educational workshop about art!

Have you ever wandered around a museum or art gallery and wanted to be able to discuss what you see en français? Do you enjoy learning about pieces of art from various time periods and deep diving into their stories? If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, this workshop is for you.

De tous les mouvements de l’art moderne en France, impressionnisme, cubisme, surréalisme, École de Paris… nous ne retenons trop souvent que les noms d’artistes masculins. La journée internationale des femmes, ce 8 mars 2021, sera l’occasion de retracer le parcours créatif de femmes peintres et sculptrices, dans cette période jalonnée de profonds bouleversements sociaux et culturels qui s’étend de la fin du 19ème siècle jusqu'aux années 50. Seront mises en lumière les œuvres de femmes qui ont su intégrer les ruptures formelles de leur époque dans leur travail, tout en portant un regard différent- de celui des hommes- sur le monde, les grands sujets de l’histoire de l’art, en particulier celui de la représentation du corps féminin.

Of all the modern art movements in France, Impressionism, Cubism, Surrealism, the School of Paris ... we too often only remember the names of male artists. International Women's Day, March 8, 2021, will be an opportunity to retrace the creative journeys of women painters and sculptors in this period marked by profound social and cultural upheavals that stretched from the end of the 19th century to the 1950s. We will highlight the works of women who have been able to integrate the aesthetic ruptures of their time into their art while bearing a different perspective - from that of men - on the world, the great subjects of the history of art, in particular that of the representation of the female body.

This workshop is perfect for intermediate/advanced learners (at least B1 level) who want to brush up on their art vocabulary and deepen their discussions in French! Zoom information will be sent via email before the event.

About Lucile Chaurin Ablanedo

Lucile Chaurin Ablanedo est diplômée de l'École nationale supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris dans le champ peinture. Elle a participé à de nombreuses expositions en France et ses peintures et dessins sont présents dans des collections privées en France et aux États-Unis.

Lucile Chaurin Ablanedo graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Paris in the field of painting. She participated in many exhibitions in France and her paintings and drawings are present in private collections in France and the United States.
