In our next ciné-club, we will pay homage to the late Jean-Paul Belmondo as we discuss Borsalino. This gangster movie features two of the greatest French actors, monstres sacrés Alain Delon and Jean-Paul Belmondo. During the 1930s in Marseilles, two small-time crooks work for local crime bosses until they decide to go into business for themselves and create a unique duo.

Synopsis

Borsalino is a 1970 French gangster film directed by Jacques Deray and starring Alain Delon, Jean-Paul Belmondo and Catherine Rouvel. It was entered into the 20th Berlin International Film Festival. In 2009, Empire named it No. 19 in a poll of "The 20 Greatest Gangster Movies You've Never Seen… Probably".
