For this month’s ciné-club we will be discussing 24 jours, a drama based on a true story. When Ilan Halimi is kidnapped for ransom because he is Jewish and supposedly rich, his family and the police start a race against time to save him from the tortures of the "gang of barbarians." The film is a chilling depiction of the real-life events surrounding the attack, and presents a commentary on growing anti-Semitism in France.
