Join us for a refined yet welcoming cake decorating class as part of the French Library’s Gastronomy and Wine Program, led by the talented team behind Luna’s Cakes in Newton, MA.

In this hands-on workshop, guests will be introduced to the art of cake decorating, learning foundational piping techniques alongside more expressive, artistic flourishes. With expert guidance, participants will explore how to create beautifully finished cakes that balance precision with creativity, drawing inspiration from both classic and contemporary styles - and will be able to take their 4" cake home.

Designed for all levels, this class offers an approachable entry point into pastry decoration while maintaining a sense of elegance and craftsmanship.

The Chef Restrepo team

Valeria and Valentina Restrepo are the sisters behind Luna’s Cakes & Coffee, a from-scratch bakery and café in Newton Centre. What began as a small home based cake business quickly grew into a storefront where they now create custom cakes, desserts, and specialty coffee for their community.
As self-taught bakers and first-generation business owners, they built Luna’s from the ground up through creativity, dedication, and a love for celebrating life’s special moments. They specialize in buttercream cake design and enjoy making decorating approachable and fun for all skill levels.
Through their classes, they’re excited to share the techniques they’ve learned along the way and help others feel confident creating their own beautiful cakes.
