About the Performers
Mary O’Keefe is a recent graduate from the New England Conservatory, earning her B.M. while studying with Keisuke Wakao. As a freelance musician in Boston, she has performed with A Far Cry, the Glen Falls Symphony, Chorus Pro Musica, and the Haffner Sinfonietta. She is dedicated to exploring social boundaries with music, organizing a benefit concert for the ACLU entitled “What Makes America Great” featuring 60 different performers in NEC’s Williams Hall. In April 2016, she performed in a solo recital raising money for the Nature Conservancy. She is a strong supporter of contemporary music, performing twice with the Callithumpian Consort and playing Xenakis’s “Dmaathen” for NEC’s Chamber Music Gala: 150th Anniversary in Jordan Hall. Outside of music, Mary enjoys walking in the rain, finding new crock pot recipes, and
plump blueberry muffins.
Tenor Morgan Chalue’s recent credits include Dr. Blind in Die Fledermaus (Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Opera Intensive), Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro (Opera del West), Lillas Pastia in La Tragédie de Carmen (BU Opera Institute), Older Brother in Dead Man Walking (Boston Opera Collaborative), Bill in A Hand of Bridge (BU Opera
Workshop), Jenik and Vaclav covers in Die Bauer ein Schelm (Calliope), and ensemble

Soprano Stephanie Scogna is a soloist, choral singer, administrator, and teacher in the Boston area. She has appeared as Sister Constance in Dialogues of the Carmelites and Zweite Dame in The Magic Flute with New England Conservatory’s Opera Theatre, and has sung the role of Gretel (Hansel and Gretel) and the title role of Massenet’s Cendrillon. An avid proponent and specialist of art song, Stephanie joined collaborative pianist Seoyon MacDonald in 2015 to found the Boston Art Song Society, providing the central avenue for a salon-style art song
concert series each year. Stephanie is a four-year member of the Choir of the Church of the
Advent, and sings frequently throughout Boston as a church choral singer and cantor. She also
enjoys teaching voice and piano privately. She received her Master of Music degree in Vocal
Performance at New England Conservatory with additional studies in Vocal Pedagogy, and
completed her Bachelor of Music degree at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
Korean pianist Seoyon MacDonald enjoys an innovative and cultured musical career; one
marked by her consistency of refinement and musical ingenuity. In her teenage years,
MacDonald had made appearances as a collaborative pianist at international festivals in
Germany, Czech Republic, and Hungary with choirs and chamber ensembles. As a solo pianist,
she performed Beethoven’s Concerto in C minor with the University of Northwestern, St. Paul
orchestra in 2010, as the prizewinner of the university’s concerto competition. Seoyon loves
her active career as a song specialist, recitalist, and vocal coach in Boston. After completing her
M.M. in Collaborative Piano from New England Conservatory in May 2016, she spent the
summer in Austria performing German Lied with European singers and pianists at the Franz
Schubert Institut. After returning from Austria, she joined New England Conservatory of
Preparatory/Continuing Education School as a staff pianist. MacDonald is also Co-founder and
