About the Author:


Abdellah Taïa is the author of multiple novels including An Arab Melancholia and A Country for Dying. His most recent book, Le bastion des larmes, was shortlisted for the Prix Goncourt 2024 and won the Prix Décembre. His debut film, Salvation Army, premiered at Venice and TIFF, winning the Grand Prix at Angers, while his second feature, Cabo Negro, will be released in 2025. His short film Cairo Streets is an official selection at Locarno, TIFF, and the New York International Film Festival 2025.

Benoit Landon is a journalist and librarian at the French Library, where he hosts book clubs and literary talks. He has interviewed authors such as Éric Chacour, Sophie Divry, Étienne Kern, and Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Powers.
