About Living in Your Light

In his stunning new novel, Taïa tells the story of Malika, a Moroccan woman whose life spans the country’s colonial past to the death of King Hassan II. Through her voice—fierce, uncompromising, and deeply moving—we witness a lifetime of survival and resilience. The book is dedicated to Taïa’s mother, M’Barka Allali Taïa (1930–2010), and translated by Emma Ramadan, winner of the PEN Translation Prize.

About Salvation Army

Taïa’s autobiographical coming-of-age novel follows his journey from a poor childhood in Salé to Tangier adolescence and a disillusioning adulthood in Europe. Adapted into a film directed by Taïa himself, Salvation Army is a landmark in queer Arab literature, breaking silence in a society where homosexuality remains criminalized.
