Bio

James Dolley was born in Orange County, California and grew up in Wayne, Pennsylvania. He is French-American with direct familial roots in the Touraine, Limousin, and Paris regions. He grew up bilingual and studied French during all of his adolescent and adult life. He holds a master’s degree in Secondary Education, a bachelor’s in history, and a bachelor’s French & Francophone Studies from The Catholic University of America. He is passionate about French language, history, culture, and the Francophone world. James also has a passion for French literature and cinema. His undergraduate theses focused on the history and literary representations of World War II in France. He is excited to join the French Library’s team as a part-time teacher in the youth sector and to share the language he has grown up with and that he loves. In his free time, James enjoys reading, spending quality time with friends and family, playing guitar, and exercising.
