About this Class
This course explores how emotions, thoughts, and the life of the mind are expressed in French through a selection of literary masterpieces. Through themes such as consciousness, memory, desire, and nostalgia, France's great writers have tested the boundaries and uncovered the richness of the French language as a means of representing inner experience. At the same time, they have contributed to the creation of a distinctive vision of the French spirit and sensibility.
Objectives:
- Strengthen vocabulary and grammatical structures used to express emotions and feelings.
- Gain an introduction to literary French through the study of vocabulary and stylistic techniques.
- Develop the ability to express a wide range of emotions in contemporary French.
- Build proficiency in all four core language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
