How do the French approach work, education, happiness, politics, relationships, and personal freedom? This engaging conversation-based course invites participants to explore the values, traditions, and social attitudes that shape contemporary French society.
Through a rich variety of authentic materials, including articles, videos, surveys, podcasts, interviews, and cultural documents, students will examine the beliefs, habits, and social codes that influence everyday life in France. Topics may include the French passion for discussion and critical thinking, attitudes toward work-life balance, the role of the state, education and social mobility, concepts of individual liberty, and evolving perspectives on identity and modern society.
