About this Class
This dynamic course offers you the opportunity to bring your grammar up to speed. Our teachers will guide you through the often-daunting world of French grammar in a personalized look at the language's most difficult notions all while immersed in a French-speaking environment.
Notions to be covered this winter - Session 1:
- Articles définis et indéfinis - (le, la, les / un, une, des) – Understanding gender and number agreement
- Pronoms personnels sujets (je, tu, il/elle, nous, vous, ils/elles) – Basic subject pronouns
- Verbes réguliers au présent (-er, -ir, -re verbs) – Conjugation patterns and usage
- Verbes irréguliers fréquents (être, avoir, aller, faire) – Essential irregular verbs in the present tense
- Adjectifs qualificatifs et accord – Gender and number agreement of adjectives with nouns
Notions to be covered this winter - Session 2:
- Articles partitifs et quantités (du, de la, des, de l’) – Expressing some/any and quantities
- Prépositions de lieu et de temps (à, en, dans, chez, sur, sous, avant, après) – Basic spatial and temporal prepositions
- Forme négative (ne… pas, ne… jamais, ne… plus) – Building negative sentences
- Pronoms possessifs et adjectifs possessifs (mon, ma, mes / le mien, la mienne…) – Expressing possession
- Interrogatives simples (qui, que, où, quand, comment, pourquoi) – Asking questions with inversion and est-ce que.
