Bastille Day is back! This year, we are celebrating Bastille Day twice: once online and once in-person. Can’t make up your mind? Attend both!

About Our Virtual Celebration

Join us for a celebratory, educational online event. We will start with speeches in French from Arnaud Mentré, Consul Général de France à Boston, and Barbara Bouquegneau, Executive Director of the French Library.

We will then have the pleasure of listening to Sarah Lund on the following topic: Liberty, Equality, Sorority? A Woman Printmaker in the French Revolution. Sarah Lund is a graduate intern at the Harvard Art Museums and Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History of Art and Architecture, Harvard University. A short Q&A in English will follow this presentation.

We will continue the event with a game in French: the goal will be to guess if the questions we will ask you are related to Bastille Day, the American Independence Day, or both of them. Last but not least, we will close the evening listening to the sublime reinterpretation of La Marseillaise by the talented duo formed by FCC team member, Fabrizio Mazzetta and his partner, Masako Jasmine Yotsugi.
