Join us for a special lecture with Professor Claude Cernuschi, a leading scholar of modern and contemporary art, as he explores the life, work, and enduring legacy of Pablo Picasso.

Presented in conjunction with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston's major exhibition Picasso, Miró, Dalí: Unbound, this timely lecture will examine Picasso's groundbreaking artistic career and his pivotal role in shaping twentieth-century art. Drawing on his extensive teaching and research, Professor Cernuschi will offer fresh perspectives on Picasso's remarkable creativity, his artistic innovations, and the lasting impact of his work on generations of artists.

About the Speaker

Claude Cernuschi is Professor of Art History at Boston College, where he has served as Chair of the Art, Art History, and Film Department and has collaborated extensively with the McMullen Museum of Art. A specialist in nineteenth- and twentieth-century European and American art, his scholarship explores modernism, expressionism, and abstraction, with particular attention to the relationship between artistic innovation, identity, and visual expression. His publications include influential studies of Jackson Pollock, Oskar Kokoschka, Egon Schiele, and Abstract Expressionism.

Born in Buenos Aires and educated in the United States, Professor Cernuschi brings a global perspective to the history of modern art. A frequent lecturer at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, he is widely recognized for making the history of art engaging, insightful, and accessible to a broad public.
