About this Class
Embark on a summer along the French coastline, between iconic seaside landscapes, local traditions, and captivating coastal stories. From the sunlit elegance of Saint-Tropez and the legacy of Brigitte Bardot to the dramatic cliffs of Étretat, this course takes you on a journey through a vibrant and contrasting coastal France. Using authentic materials, you will improve your French while discovering the culture, flavours, and stories that shape the French shoreline.
Using authentic materials (articles, videos, songs, and personal testimonies), students will develop their communicative skills while deepening their understanding of Francophone culture. The emphasis will be placed on speaking skills and in-class interaction around themes related to summer and the sea.
Class objectives:
- Understand and discuss key aspects of French coastal culture, including landscapes, traditions, and local ways of life.
- Describe places, people, and experiences related to the French coastline using language appropriate to their level.
- Use simple narrative structures to tell stories and describe real or imagined experiences linked to coastal contexts.
- Improve their listening comprehension skills through exposure to authentic French-language materials.
- Improve their written production skills through postcard-writing activities related to each region studied.
