About Richard Linklater
Richard Linklater is an acclaimed American filmmaker known for his innovative storytelling and exploration of time, memory, and human relationships. He first gained international recognition with Slacker (1990) and Dazed and Confused(1993), and went on to direct the acclaimed Before trilogy (Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Before Midnight). His groundbreaking film Boyhood (2014), filmed over twelve years, earned him the Golden Globe Award for Best Director and multiple Academy Award nominations.
His wide-ranging filmography includes experimental works such as Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly, as well as popular successes like School of Rock, establishing him as one of the most versatile and influential directors in contemporary cinema.
About Ericka Knudson
Ericka Knudson holds a Ph.D. in Film Studies from the Université Paris Ouest Nanterre with a specialization in French New Wave cinema. She is a Visiting Lecturer in the World Languages and Cultures Department at Northeastern University and has taught film courses at Harvard University, Stanford Continuing Studies, and Université Paris Descartes. She has published numerous articles on French cinema, co-authored a book on world film, and created a documentary on the French New Wave for the University of Rome.

Barbara Bouquegneau is the President and Executive Director of the French Library. She holds a Master of Science in Film Production from Boston University and has curated the Library’s cinema program for many years, offering local audiences a rich selection of French films. Her passion for cinema and cultural dialogue continues to foster thoughtful conversations around both contemporary and classic works of French filmmaking.
