Art lovers, join artist Cécile Ganne for an abstract landscape acrylic painting night!

During this workshop, students will experience the exhilarating creative process of studying the lines of the land. You will learn how to decipher the landscape through its linear language, and transfer this idea onto paper. From there, students will learn to rotate their work, reacting to the new lines created and carving out small abstract paintings. The class will also focus on creating lush abstractions, layering colors, and playing with different mediums. This class is open to all levels and students are encouraged to bring any drawing supplies they have at home.

Paper, brushes and acrylic paint provided. A glass of wine is included in the price.

About Cécile Ganne

Cécile Ganne is a French contemporary landscape artist born in France and based in Boston. She grew up painting with her maternal grandmother in the Dordogne Valley of Southern France, but it was not until she was diagnosed with cancer that she returned to her brushes with renewed vigor and a newly found sense of life.

She often paints during the dreamlike, “in-between” ephemeral moments of the day, moments of waiting and anticipation. In her re-imagined oil landscapes, her work aims to capture the fleetingness of daily life and the memories of the sense of place and belonging.

Her work is represented by Three Stones Gallery and Sun Studios in Concord, MA, and she resides in private collections in the United States, France, and the United Kingdom. A member of Boston’s Sowa Guild of Artists, she welcomes the public to her studio on a weekly basis. When she does not paint, she’s a Lecturer of French and Director of the French House at Wellesley College.
