Lions, and Tigers, and French, Oh My!

At Franklin Park Zoo Get Directions

Adventurers, join us for a morning at the Franklin Zoo in French. Our French native speaker guide from the zoo, Audrey will reveal les secrets du zoo!

See gorillas, zebras, giraffes, tigers, lions and more. Get an up close and personal view of the adorable little critters in the Prairie Dog Pop Up. Play next to the red pandas on the Bamboo Climber, featuring live bamboo plants and an array of climbable “bamboo” poles. The Butterfly Landing, open seasonally, is filled with hundreds of butterflies. Kids will also like the Tropical Forest Habitat where they'll see Gorillas at play. In the Aussie Aviary, feeding the animals is encouraged! Hundreds of brightly colored budgerigars, affectionately called budgies, flutter through this free-flight exhibit. If you’re lucky, the birds will land on your seed stick (provided in the ticket price) and let you keep them company while they enjoy a little nibble. Audrey will be pleased to answer all your questions.

Please be at the front of the Zebra Entrance at 10.15am. The tour will begin at 10.30am.

Bring your own bottle of water, and be sure to wear a pair of comfortable shoes!

Your ticket allows you to arrive at 10am (not before this time) however you can stay as long as you wish after the tour. The Zoo is a perfect place to enjoy a picnic and a lovely afternoon.

Franklin Park Zoo
Franklin Park Zoo is a 72-acre site nestled in Boston’s historic Franklin Park, long considered the "crown jewel" of Frederick Law Olmsted’s Emerald Necklace Park System. The Zoo was founded in 1912 and was managed by the City of Boston until 1958, when the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC), a state agency, assumed management. The MDC managed the Zoos until 1991, when Governor William Weld signed legislation to create the private Commonwealth Zoological Corporation (CZC). In July of 1997 the CZC changed its name to Zoo New England to reflect the regional appeal of the Zoo.
