About Château de Blérancourt

This museum allows to present art collections following 3 great themes: Les Lumières’ ideals which are at the origins of the first alliances between the two nations; the battles in which France and the United States fought side by side; and the Art, starting point of numerous transatlantic exchanges.
Unique en France, le musée franco-américain, consacré aux relations entre la France et les États-Unis, est construit sur les vestiges d'un château du XVIIe siècle. Il a été fondé en 1924 par Anne Morgan, fille du banquier américain J.P. Morgan, qui installe au château en 1917 une organisation humanitaire pour la reconstruction de la région, le CARD.
Ce musée permet de présenter les collections selon trois grandes thématiques : les Idéaux des Lumières à l’origine des premières alliances entre les deux nations, les Épreuves pendant lesquelles la France et les États-Unis ont combattu côte à côte, et les Arts, sujet de nombreux échanges transatlantiques.
