Youth Programs is proud to present screenings for middle and high school students this Spring in our beautifully renovated Library
Wednesdays and Thursdays from May 17 - June 15
Viewing times (only upon reservation) : 10:00am-1:00pm
Cost: $5/student (includes popcorn)
The festival is open to accredited middle and high schools, schools with bilingual education programs, schools offering French as a foreign language and FLAM classes in Boston and the Greater Boston Area

Festinema is an annual nationwide French film festival and educational program for children and adolescents, created by the Alliance Française network in the U.S. Initiated by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the U.S. and the FACE Foundation, and now in its 10th year, this event is an opportunity to inspire learning and understanding of international cultures through cinema.
Students of all ages and socioeconomic status are invited to expand their international horizons through cinema and culture. The Festinema Junior program has four goals across the United States:

- Introduce young audiences to world cinema and international cultures.
- Integrate film as a teaching tool in the classroom.
- Offer children of all backgrounds, status, and origins an opportunity to see a foreign language film in a theater.
- Teach young people to think critically in their film analysis.

How can we participate?
Reservations and policies
Screening capacity: We are able to accomodate up to 55 students in our Founder's Room which is equipped with seats, screen and projector.
Cost and reservation: The price to attend each film is $5 per student; this includes a small bag of popcorn. To reserve your spot, complete this online form. A non-refundable $25 deposit is required to reserve a screening. It will be due at least two (2) weeks before the screening. If scheduled under two weeks, it will be due the day the reservation can be confirmed. A final confirmation of the number of students attending and full payment will be due at least (1) week before the screening.
Payments: Payments can be made via check or via card over the phone. Please make check payable to: French Library

- Providing information about the festival and obtaining permission from parents for their children to attend
- Depending on class sizes, an additional instructor/chaperone may be required
- Transportation to and from the French Library
