Bio

Jonathan was born in Bogotá, Colombia and grew up in New York speaking Spanish and English. He became interested in French as a child and went on to earn a degree in French Literature, with a minor in Translation and Intercultural Communication, at Princeton University. He then pursued graduate studies in Romance Languages and Literature at Harvard University, with a focus on French, Francophone, and Latin American Studies; completed an an internship at UNESCO's Paris headquarters; and participated in a research exchange program at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. Jonathan has interpreted for the French team at the United Nations Civil Society Forum, and taught French and Spanish in a variety of settings. Jonathan speaks seven languages at an intermediate level or higher, including Haitian Creole. He knows all too well what it's like to learn a new language; both the joys and the struggles.
