About this Class

Our core language classes will reinforce your French through speaking, writing and comprehension activities while providing insights into Francophone culture. Our teachers and curriculum use cutting-edge methods and resources to augment your skills and boost your confidence in French. With a focus on conversational French and active student participation using videos and interactive exercises, you will master the finer aspects of the French language.

Required: B2-3 or equivalent. Prepare for CECR B2
Required textbook: Cosmopolite 4
In this course you will cover units 7 and 8; pp. 120 to 151. Please note that a CD player is needed to play the included disc.

Learn How To
Compare and contrast different professional behaviors, outline a career path and explain various life choices, identify and describe certain professional skills, communicate in a professional context, understand a job and a professional environment, present a well-constructed argument about something work-related.

Grammar
Using indirect discourse to recount information in the past, using doubt pronouns to avoid repetition within a sentence.

Society, Culture, and Vocabulary
Explore the most the different registers of language (familier, standard, soutenue), describe professional qualities in a person, learn some expressions to fine-tune your point of view.

Learn How To
Isolate goals, talk about formative experiences, give an explanation for something, explore how languages are learned, question the usefulness of higher education, analyze difference, expand upon an education initiative.

Using des propositions relatives to express a wish or a goal, uncover the value of the subjunctive when giving an opinion, using the subjunctive to communicate probability, the negation with ne…ni…ni

Using nominalization to highlight information, talk about schooling and pedagogy, learn about language acquisition, discuss different education systems.
