About this Class

Our core language classes will strengthen your French through speaking, writing and comprehension activities while providing insights into Francophone culture. Our teachers and curriculum use cutting-edge methods and resources to expand your skills and increase your confidence in French. With full immersion from day one and a communicative, task-based approach you'll gain a deeper understanding of the French language and Francophone world!

Required: A2-4 or equivalent. Prepare for CECR B1
Required textbook: Edito B1
In this course you will cover units 1 and 2; pp. 11 to 42. Please note that a CD player is needed to play the included disc.

Content you will cover in Unit 1: "Vivre ensemble"

Learn How To
Express interest and indifference, obligation, permission and prohibition ; give advice ; describe a home ; write about a project ; congratulate and share wishes.

Using the subjunctive mood ; advising using the subjunctive +infinitive verb ; going further with negations and restrictions ; understanding prefixes in-, il-, im-, ir-.

Society, Culture, and Vocabulary
Learn about Belgian culture, co-housing communities and balanced diets ; and more. Vocabulary: Food ; housing ; and co-living.

Noticing rhythmic word groupings separated by a phonetic comma.

Content you will cover in Unit 2:
"Le goût des nôtres"

Learn How To
Talk about family stories ; describe close relationships ; tell a story describing past situations, habits and events ; express pleasure and joy ; share a memory or an anecdote, and lament forgotten memories.

Using the passé composé and the imperfect verbal tenses together ; time indicateurs for expressing duration and specific moments ; agreements for using pronominal verbs in the passé composé verbal.

Society, Culture, and Vocabulary
Learn about a Belgian intergenerational meeting site ; a childhood in Cameroon ; French family trees ; and more. Vocabulary: Human beings ; family ; relationships.

Noticing syllabic equality and elongation of the stressed vowel.



This course has been an absolutely immersive experience that has made me learn faster than ever. Also, the benefits of being a member are fantastic.
