About this Class

Our core language classes will strengthen your French through speaking, writing and comprehension activities while providing insights into Francophone culture. Our teachers and curriculum use cutting-edge methods and resources to develop your skills and confidence in French. With full immersion from day one and a communicative, task-based approach you'll gain the knowledge you need to embrace the Francophone world!

Required: A2-3 or equivalent. Prepare for CECR A2

In this course you will cover units 10, 11, and 12; pp. 139 to 189. Please note that a CD player is needed to play the included disc.

Learn How To
Understand a tourist brochure, reserve a stay somewhere, research a destination online, express your indifference towards a situation.

Grammar
The passé composé and the imperfect tense as used in storytelling, agreement in the past with direct object pronouns, the demonstrative pronouns celui, celle, ceux, and celles.

Society and Culture
Tourism in France, the conquest of Québec.

Vocabulary
Travel, staying somewhere, preparing for a trip, taking an airplane, renting a car, tourism, different regions of France.

Receive a thank you note, talk about your professional background, comprehend the structure of a résumé, understand offers of employment, write a formal letter.

Compare different types of résumés in Switzerland, France, and Québec.

The French school system, higher education, testing and the value of a degree, the professional world, work, résumés, different professions, different areas of work.

Endangered animals, pet culture in France, the WWF in Belgium.

Vocabulary
