About this Class

Our core language classes will strengthen your French through speaking, writing and comprehension activities while providing insights into Francophone culture. Learn How To
  • Give an opinion on an outfit, analyze an app for dressing for the weather, talk about the weather, ask for and give your clothing and shoe size, ask for the price, describe an object.
Grammar
  • Gender and number agreement with adjectives, adjective placement, the near future and the recent past, demonstrative adjectives, the verb venir.
Society and Culture
  • The marinière, clothing vocabulary in Québec
Vocabulary
  • Clothing and accessories, what clothes are made of, the weather, day-to-day objects, describing those objects (shape, size, weight).
Pronunciation
  • Elision with j’, c’, l’, n’, d’: Il y a le vent d’Ouest et l’orage; the liaison with [z] and [n]: zéro; bonne.

Learn How To
  • Talk about your daily activities, ask and give the time, propose an outing, schedule a meeting, accept and refuse an invitation, make a reservation over the telephone.
Grammar
  • Reflexive verbs in the present (se préparer, s’occuper), specify frequency (jamais, de temps en temps, souvent, tous les…tout le temps, toujours), the imperative tense with être, avoir, regarder, anteriority and posteriority.
Society and Culture
  • Talk about time changes and idiomatic expressions.
