C'est elle qui a adopté Mademoiselle Superfétatoire, une grue de Guinée qu'elle promène en laisse, qui arrose les meubles, qui change de prénom chaque jour. Elle entraîne sa famille dans un tourbillon de poésie et de chimères. Un jour pourtant, elle va trop loin, et le monde rationnel s'invite chez eux. Père et enfant vont tout faire pour éviter l'inéluctable, pour que la fête continue coûte que coûte, pour la protéger. L'amour fou n'a jamais si bien porté son nom.
