« Mon enfant me dévore », soupirent les mères. « Elle se fait complètement vampiriser », observent les pères à propos de cet enfant qui s'oppose sans cesse, se cramponne, ne veut jamais s'occuper tout seul, pique des crises, se comporte en petit tyran. La difficulté à lui imposer des limites s'enracine dans l'histoire de chacun de ses parents. Les mères font de leur mieux et se reprochent de ne pas faire assez bien. Alors elles en font trop et n'en peuvent plus. Et souvent les pères ne s'en mêlent pas suffisamment. Lyliane Nemet-Pier, psychologue-clinicienne et psychanalyste, invite les mères à identifier les moments où elles pourraient faire autrement : s'autoriser à ne pas être parfaites, à éprouver des sentiments négatifs, déléguer davantage au père, et parfois penser à elles. Ainsi sortie de cette spirale, toute la famille s'en portera mieux.
