The Youth Programs at the French Library/Alliance Française of Boston and Cambridge is now accepting applications for the 2026 cohort of Accent on Success Program, open to BPS high school students, preferably 10th graders (9th and 11th graders will also be considered). This program offers a unique opportunity for students to join our learning community and take French classes at the French Library free of charge. A commitment is required from January 2025 to June 2026, and upon successful completion of the year and a half program, students will be rewarded with a fully covered trip to either France or Quebec.

Application overview: Parents/Guardians submit an online application. As part of the application, students are required to submit a short video (2-3) minutes explaining why they are excited to study French and how Accent on Success will help them achieve their language, career and life goals.   For more information about Accent on Success, please contact youthprograms@frenchlibrary.org   Program at a Glance Accent on Success is fully funded by the French Library and will provide students with: 
  • A French language immersion trip to Quebec or France after two (1.5) academic years in the program (conditional upon successful completion of program) 
  • Family Membership to the French Library while enrolled in program (borrowing privileges, access to events, etc.) 
  • Learning opportunities throughout the program (workshops, field trips)  
  • Learning support from our teachers  
Who is eligible? 
  • Students who are motivated to learn French or further their studies in the language 
  • Students in good academic standing  
  • Students willing and able to travel to the French Library once a week for an hour and a half class on Wednesdays from 3:30pm-5:00pm (no classes/activities will take place during periods when the French Library is closed; e.g. Christmas, holidays).

  • Welcome Reception: January 29 (to be confirmed)  
  • Program starts: Early February
