We are glad to publish the winning poem of our poetry contest!

Congratulations from the Team at the French Library to author Samantha Schmidt.

As a reminder, we organized a poetry contest in April with the theme spring

Je me souviens des jours de p’tite
fille
le vent devenait enfin
gentil
le soleil encore me
réchauffait
mes rêves, finalement, sont
clarifiés.
Au jardin les premières fleurs
éclosent
les oiseaux courageux du sud
osent
retourner au nord pour faire leurs
nids
pour leurs oisillons ils créent une
vie.
Je plonge mes pieds dans la boue
glissante,
je cherche dans le sol des pousses
naissantes.
Ce qui est fermé pendant
l’hiver
s’ouvre pour respirer un nouvel
air.
Je trouve un début qui donne
l’espoir,
la joie, la paix et la beauté à
voir.

Want to be part of a new contest? We are offering two new contests to celebrate Bastille Day! We can’t wait to see your entries!
