The French Library / Alliance Française of Boston and Cambridge is pleased to announce Joyce Grippen as its Director of Development. Joyce will play an integral role in advancing the mission of the FCC / AF by developing a major gifts program, shaping outreach activities, and fostering a culture of fundraising.

In this role, Joyce will lead all fundraising and membership efforts to increase the visibility and impact of the Center as the innovative leader in French language, education, and culture in New England.

“Joyce is a tremendous asset to our team, as we continue to expand our visibility to new members and students,” said Executive Director Barbara Bouquegneau. “We are thrilled to have her at the Center initiating new efforts to increase resources so that we can help foster the global citizens of tomorrow.”

Joyce comes to the Center as an accomplished development professional and leader with more than twenty years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Most recently she served as the Director of Major Gifts at the American Cancer Society where she was recognized as a top performer in her region. Prior to ACS, Joyce was Director of Development at the Charlton College of Business at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and the Vice President of Association Advancement at the Old Colony YMCA, where she led development strategy for 11 locations.

Founded in Boston in 1945 as the French Library, the FCC / AF is a venerable membership-based organization created to ensuring the vibrant growth of French language and culture in New England. Located in Boston’s historic Back Bay, the Center has three areas of activity: French language education for students of all ages; French-themed artistic and cultural activities throughout the year, and a library that houses some 30,000 French-language books, periodicals and electronic media, making it the second-largest private French library collection in the United States.
